WAG Head Coach

Casual Position – Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (1730-2030) & Saturday 1330-1630

Hourly Rate: Based on the Fitness Industry Award MA000094

Henley & Grange Youth Club Inc (better known as Gym West Gymnastics Club) is home to one of South Australia’s largest Gymnastics programs, catering for gymnasts from the age of 0-18+ years. The Club has a large recreational gymnastics & KinderGym program and runs both Women’s and Men’s competitive artistic gymnastics.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate coach that will manage our competitive program and coaching staff, they will also look beyond competitive to the GFA program and ensure it is facilitated well to feed into the competitive program.

Essential Criteria

  • Enjoy working with kids and making a positive impact on their lives
  • Enthusiasm and a passion for developing others
  • Friendly and open communicator
  • A results focused team player
  • Ability to manage, lead and develop coaches of a lower accreditation
  • WAG Coaching qualifications – Advanced accreditation or experienced Intermediate accreditation and working towards Advanced
  • Current Gymnastics Australia Technical Membership
  • Annually updating Gymnastics accreditation in accordance with Gymnastics Australia technical membership requirements.
  • Current HLTAID003 First Aid
  • Current DHS Working With Children Check - CLEARED (or able to obtain)

Role and ideal applicant
The ideal applicant will deliver our WAG Competition program with professionalism and care for participants. They will interact with children positively and assist in the development of technique and skills. Be responsible for the safety of participants and equipment during programs and provide excellent customer service to children and parents.

This position is identified as a Child-Related position under the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998, and it is a requirement to conduct a Working with Children Checks on the preferred applicants. Prohibited Persons are not eligible to apply.
